The Homag Company is a world leading in sizing
and banding. Homag was founded in 1960 by Eugen
Hornberger and the consultancy firm of Gerhard
Schuler. Homag machinery has really made a
name for itself.
They are located in Germany and while their
original work was based on simple transport devices
and processing equipment, they were actually
the first company to create an edge banding machine.
This feat happened only 2 years after the company
was created. Homag machinery has been setting
standards ever since.
Homag’s
progress over the years was a rapid one with
them moving swiftly along with technology.
They are at the cutting edge of technology
with no leading product being less than 3 years
old.
A
quick timeline of the past 40 years will tell
you of their progress. They created the world’s
first edge-banding machine that used the hot/cold
technique. Five years later they created the
world’s first combined sizing and banding
machine. In 1982, they had teh first plant with
production control and fully automatic resetting
using identity numbers. The progress continued
at in 1997 they created Powerline, a new machine
concept for high-performance systems based on
mechatronics.
Homag sells machines such as double end tenoners,
edge banding machines, post forming machines,
sizing machines, contour edge banding machines
and even second hand machines.
