The Bosch company began in 1886 from an impressive
sounding company called the Workshop for Precision
Mechanics and Electrical Engineering. It was
founded by Robert Bosch in Stuttgart, Germany
and has since grown to be one of the largest
manufacturers of tools in the world.
In the beginning, the company made a name for
itself by building magnetos and in the first
years of its existence, Bosch mainly earned a
living from installation work, using a bicycle
to visit his customers. As the company expanded,
it focused on products for the automotive industry.
